Rezidor’s Soap & the City initiative on 5 June was a great success. Working together with Serve the City, Rezidor hotels have made a positive impact in our local communities, reaching thousands of people in need across 10 European cities!
In Dublin, the Radisson Blu Dublin Airport, Radisson Blu Royal Hotel Dublin and the Radisson Blu St Helen Hotel Dublin and their teams came together to serve Capuchin House, a centre for the homeless and those in need.
More than a thousand meals were provided. In total, 976 adults and 59 children received meals. “The number of children really surprised and moved us all,” notes Madeline Riley, General Manager at the Radisson Blu Royal Hotel.
All adults and children received Soap & the City packs as they left the event. The packs were prepared and provided by 27 Rezidor staff members assisted by personnel from the Capuchin Day Centre.
The organisers from the Centre will be invited to dinner by the three hotels in the near future to thank them for the great work they do on a daily basis.
“Brother Kevin and his team do such an amazing job. The team from the three hotels in Dublin were blown away by the dedication and support they provide,” says Madeline. “I also received a lovely letter from one of the visitors to the Centre that day, thanking us for our support. That makes it so worthwhile. Some of the more memorable moments for me include a child giving me a hug on the way out to thank us for the food. Another guy advised me that he had been homeless for 14 years and had never felt this full feeling. I also met a lady who travels a great distance to the Centre every day with her children to ensure they receive breakfast and dinner.”
Join us to congratulate everyone who participated in Soap & the City and don’t forget to share the news!
