We are pleased to announce that the fifth city to take part in our Soap & the City challenge is:
In recent years the city has become a reference for fashion, art, design and music. Although the pace of life in this large, cosmopolitan city is hectic, Berlin offers a great quality of life!
Two Rezidor hotels will participate in the Soap & the City project on 5 June: the Radisson Blu hotel and the Park Inn by Radisson Berlin Alexanderplatz hotel. Together with Serve the City our Berlin hotels will present 1,000 packs of luxury toiletries to charities which support vulnerable women and children, and the homeless.
It won’t be the first time that our Berlin hotels have come to the assistance of children. The Radisson Blu hotel, together with Neuhland Children’s Homes, organises summer parties, bakes Christmas treats and promotes an introduction to working life through internships and apprenticeship positions.
Serve the City Berlin is quite active in the city. The ‘Bakery Bus’ initiative was developed when Serve the City became aware of the amount of food which goes to waste each day. Volunteers from Serve the City Berlin collect unsold bread and cakes each week from neighbourhood bakeries. The items are sorted and then delivered to four social agencies supported by the charity.
Stay tuned for the next treasure hunt – Berlin will be highlighted again!
